Useful when configuring an environment where you have logged in users who are not CMS editors or you want to make a page, or group of pages, accessible to only a certain group of people.
Permission to access the page/s is based upon a group or groups of users set up in the People manager:
- If no groups are specified then the page will be visible to all logged in users (usually CMS users)
- If groups are specified then the page will only be visible to members of those groups
- The page creator and page managers can also see the page
You can:
- Restrict access to a page to certain user groups only
- Restriction is automatically applied to all descendent (or child) pages
- This setting take precedence over the ability to edit a page in the CMS because you must be able to view to edit. This means only authorised editors can see content.
