Asset picker

Introduction

When you need to add an asset into a section or feature in a page (a slideshow, between text, banner image, download, etc) the BOOM asset picker opens to help you find the right asset.

The asset picker looks the same as the asset manager with a search function on the right.

By default the view shows albums (A) however if you've already been looking at assets in an album it will return to that album view. In this case go to the album view (B) if needed.

Upload asset

You can upload assets to use rather than select assets already in the asset manager.

Select files (A) opens a window to choose an asset or assets from your computer or drag and drop assets onto the asset picker window.

Whether selected or drag and drop:

a single asset is uploaded and inserted into the editor window or page you are editing
multiple assets are all uploaded and you can then choose which one to use

If you are viewing an album then assets are automatically added to that album when uploaded.

Search assets

The asset search options are the same as found in the asset manager.

(A) Type to word search file names and asset descriptions. An auto suggest list will appear, select an individual asset if you see what you are looking for

(B) Refine your search by asset type - image, document, video, audio

(C) Refine your search by file extension - jpg, png, pdf, etc

(D) Refine your search by which CMS user uploaded it

(E) Set the order in which to display found assets.

After making any of the choices A - E click the submit button (F) to see the results.

View assets

Whether viewed by album or searched for assets are listed on the left.

Search again or return to the album view (A).

Select an asset

To select an asset to use click on it (A) it will immediately be inserted into the editing window or page you are working on.

To close the asset picker without selecting anything click (B).
